Bright Ideas has funded more than 11,000 education grants in N.C.
Will yours be next?

At North Carolina’s electric cooperatives, we believe there is no more important investment than in our state’s youth. That’s why for 25 years, electric co-ops have offered Bright Ideas education grants to teachers in K-12 classrooms across the state for innovative, classroom-based projects that would otherwise not be possible.

In 2019, we are celebrating the 25th year of the N.C. Bright Ideas Education Grant Program. What began in 1994 in Shallotte N.C. at Brunswick EMC has touched the lives of more than 2.3 million students statewide through 11,699 Bright Ideas projects. Together, our 26 electric cooperatives have given out more than $12.2 million in grant funding. Each year, close to 600 grants are funded across the state.

Join us this year as we celebrate a quarter century of bringing bright ideas to life in North Carolina classrooms!
